Annual Early Times Chapter car show, 2003 In 2003 the Early Times Chapter again held a “car show within a car show” during the National Convention in Collinsville, Illinois. The show is open to all chapter members showing a 1926 to 1954 Pontiac in the stock classes. Chapter members showed some incredible cars in both the popular vote show and the points judged show with car show attendance up by 50 percent, and these were the top three as selected by the chapter officers. Third place was a repeat winner as John Hofmeyer showed his green ’38 two door. This car also got a third in Red Wing three years ago. Naturally John won the Joe Oliver award as well for best ’38 in the show. |
Second place honors went to Bob Evarts, a man who drives his very nice ’41 Sport two door to all the conventions. Bob is a repeat winner as well. |
And the king of the hill this year was the yellow ’39 Convertible shown by Don Shooter. Like the other winners this year, Don is a repeat winner, taking first place honors in Grand Rapids. |
We will again be hosting a “car show within a car show” for our members at this year’s convention in Joplin, Missouri. To become a member of the Early Times Chapter use the Membership Application. David Luken, President, Early Times Chapter |
