I’ve finally done it I have registered for the 2008 Flathead Reunion. OK, so it isn’t a dramatic announcement, but rather a commitment that says I do not care what fuel costs are, I’m going to go to the Flathead Reunion and I am going to have fun the whole time I’m not at home. I’ve run the figures in my computer, it is 947 miles to get there, and of course the same to get home, so you are looking at over 2000 miles for the week. I’m not letting the “American terrorist” who run the oil companies dictate how I will live my life. With our car that also means about a case of oil and a couple of quarts of transmission fluid (I’m going to fix that some day) besides the gas it will burn! For a guy who lives on the banks of the Mississippi River in Illinois, a visit to the Chesapeake Bay should be a real change in scenery. Looks like the Ladies Tour on Thursday will be an interesting one as our hostess, Karla Wise, will be taking you to see an incredible collection of period clothing as well as some antique shopping. The same thing can be said for the Friday Drive as Karla and Andy have been working on a driving tour that will be a little different but should have some great scenery plus the Maritime Museum tour. The Saturday show plans also look good. The pictures I have seen of the show sight are incredible. I’m predicting another great show with matching weather. So far I’ve never been wrong. I almost forgot, if you arrive early please try to drop by for the “meet and greet” Wednesday evening at the Holy Mackeral Pub next to the Host Hotel. See you there at 7:00 pm. Pete and Andrea Woodruff, Bobbi, and I are making our final plans for the Spearfish adventure this year. We have scheduled lot of sight seeing adventures, as well as the convention activities we want to attend. Half the fun of going to the POCI National Convention each year is seeing new parts of this great country of ours. Don’t forget to come to the Early Times Chapter Meeting on Wednesday at 3:30pm.
